The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on May 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding the implementation of actions under Stage I ('Poor' Air Quality, AQI: 2O1-3OO) of the extant schedule of GRAP in Delhi-NCR.
The following has been stated:-
•Commission for Air Quality Management has invoked Stage-I actions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across the entire NCR with immediate effect.
•The decision was taken after Delhi’s AQI rose to 208, falling in the ‘Poor’ category on May 19, 2026.
•Forecasts by IMD and IITM indicate that air quality is likely to remain in the ‘Poor’ category in the coming days.
•All concerned agencies have been directed to strictly implement and monitor Stage-I measures to prevent further deterioration in air quality.
